Susenas Officer Training March–Seruti First Quarter 2026: Improving Survey Data Quality

January 13, 2026 | BPS Activities

The National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) is one of the surveys used by the Indonesian government to provide data and indicators to support the implementation of national development in accordance with the National Long Term Development Plan (RPJPN) and Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs). Susenas data and indicators are widely used as a basis for planning, monitoring and evaluating development programs as well as providing an overview of the social and economic development of society.
The Quarterly Household Economic Survey (Seruti) is designed to compile household economic indicators every quarter. Seruti was integrated with Susenas in March and September, with the same sample (dependent) as in Susenas. Household food consumption variables that were included in Seruti were not asked again in the first and third quarters because they were already recorded in the March and September Susenas KP (VSEN.KP). Other economic variables such as non-food expenditure, income, investment and household financial transactions are assessed quarterly through the Seruti questionnaire.
Considering the importance of the continued availability and quality of Susenas and Seruti data which is used by various parties, both nationally and internationally, BPS continues to improve the quality of data collection through training survey officers. Offline training will be held on 13–14 January 2026 at the Grand Orcharz Industri Hotel. This training aims to ensure that officers understand the concepts, definitions, instruments and data collection procedures thoroughly so that the data produced is accurate and in accordance with operational standards.
