Central Jakarta BPS Holds E-Commerce Survey Officer Training in 2025
Jakarta, June 17, 2025 – The Central Jakarta Statistics Agency (BPS) is currently holding an E-Commerce Survey Officer Training activity at the Central Jakarta BPS office. This activity aims to prepare field officers to have a good understanding and skills in implementing the E-Commerce Survey which will soon take place in the Central Jakarta area.
The E-Commerce Survey is part of BPS's efforts to capture the dynamics of digital economic transactions in Indonesia, especially through online platforms (online marketplaces), social media, and internet-based trading applications. Data from this survey will be an important basis in formulating digital economic policies and developing the business sector in the era of digital transformation.
In his remarks, the Head of Central Jakarta BPS, Mr. Undich Sadewo Sunu, emphasized the importance of the role of officers in maintaining data quality. "E-Commerce is one of the important indicators in today's economy. Therefore, officers must properly understand the characteristics of digital businesses so that the data produced is accurate and in accordance with national statistical needs," he said.
This training includes understanding the concept of e-commerce, filling out questionnaires, using the CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing) method, and interview simulations. Officers are also trained to understand various digital business models that are currently developing, such as resellers, dropshippers, and MSMEs who sell products through social media.
With this training, it is hoped that officers can carry out surveys professionally and produce high-quality data that reflects the actual conditions in the field. The 2025 E-Commerce Survey is an important part of supporting the planning and evaluation of digital economic development at the central and regional levels.
