Abstract

Jakarta inflation in March 2020 was recorded at 0.33 percent.

Inflation is due to price increases, especially in the food group,

drinks and tobacco. Rising onion prices are the main cause of inflation. Inflation also occurred in six other expenditure groups.

In addition to inflation, there is one expenditure group that experienced deflation, namely the information, communication and financial services group. The fall in the price of laptops /

notebooks are the main cause of deflation in this group.

Jakarta's inflation rate in 2020 (January-March) is 0.85 percent, above the rate

inflation in the same period in the previous year. Likewise, year-on-year inflation (March 2020 against March 2019) was 3.22 percent, a significant increase compared to the same period in the previous year which only reached 3.02 percent.
